Volusion is much more than just
changing themes or redesigning templates. Today, I’d like to share
inputs of one of the projects where the client desired to have its ecommerce portal integrated with Volusion Development tools.
The project was forwarded by one
of our Australian clients who desired features integration to allow customers purchase different products as per requirement and convenience in no matter of time and cost. This client is
a dealer in souvenirs that are either sourced from different merchants or
manufactured in-house. Metallic products like fridge magnets, key rings, hat
badges are offered to customers along with non-metallic items like tea
towels, placemats etc. The client desired an ecommerce store where customer can
easily add to cart the product(s) of interest. Payment and shipping arrangement integration were primary requirements here.
Our team of Volusion
development experts sat down to prepare the best and most innovative website accommodating
tools which can help client achieve what was desired. The first job was to
select the design layout – a unique one which could match the theme idea of
client. The second task was the implementation of navigation structure wherein product categories and sub-categories are well-defined and connected with each other. Customers get an idea of not only the product but its variants too. Next, PayPal gateway was required which could help customers make payment in
respect of products purchased. Also, multiple other features, for instance, tax and
shipping systems were accommodated on the portal so that everything goes hand in
hand without any hassle or delay.
One of the additional features
added on the client portal was the private accessibility for registered customers
who can view and buy from a wide range of products. The admin could choose to
provide this accessibility as per discretion. In other words, all the
registered customers have limited accessibility for buying but selected few
could opt from a wide range of products. Apart from integrating custom form
component on the contact page, social media integration was done to make website more intuitive, responsive and accessible for everyone on the net.
This project went mobile! Our Volusion developers added mobile store design and development features to allow
users to access website on their mobiles or tablets.
